Pidgin has been complaining a lot lately when trying to connect, that it is very out of date under OpenSuse 11.3f, even though I have most of the community repos enabled.

Not a surprise for those in the tech and security sectors, but many non-techies thinking of an eBook reader might not realize just how invasive these devices are in monitoring in significant detail your reading habits and locations.

Since the few sites I could find for setting up Ampache on Suse 11 did not exactly fit setup on 11.4, I am posting some of the differences here, to help others.

Ploneboard 2.2 now installs on Plone 4.1 using buildout, but then the cluster won't start, causing plenty of disconnects/connects errors in client1, client2, and zeoserver log files. However, this simple hack to one line of the Ploneboard eggs code will get it working....

The general consensus in trying to use zexp to export and import between different versions of Plone, is that "It's not just "not recommended" -- it doesn't work. Period." -SteveM #plone IRC. However, they are wrong, in very specific circumstances...
