Dell 2155 cn / cdn Printer on Debian 11

Installing Dell 2155 printer drivers on Debian 11 with Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE)

There are multiple options for installing the 2155 printer.

This is now about 10 years old, and the Dell drivers are 32 bit.

A workaround is to try using the 3000cn foomatic drivers instead and see how those work.

The old way, is to use the Dell vendor provided drivers. They are in Redhat RPM format and require conversion to Debian format to install.

Install alien for converting package formats:

apt install alien

Download Dell 2155 Linux drivers from dell.com website:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-si/product-support/product/dell-2155cn-cdn/drivers

Unzip the bundle:

alien Dell-2155-Color-MFP-1.0-1.i686.rpm
