Scalable Jitsi, Ansible automation, [matrix], bots, ASR, AI, ML, DNN

Wrapping up work on automated scalability of Jitsi (self-hosted 20k+ concurrent users) through combination of Ansible scripts, Docker, containerd, Kubernetes, etc., in AWS and vSphere. Looking forward to resuming previous years work on Matrix distributed data and communications self-hosted federated platform adapted for education, implementing Automated Speech Recognition (ASR), bots, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and distributed Deep Neural Networks (DNN).

The Fifth AND Second Age of Computing?

Now counting predecessors to electronic processors (mechanical, water, and other computers), nor the "human computer", we are arguably, perhaps by some measures, now in the Fifth (but also back in the Second) Age of computing?

How much do you actually value transparency, privacy, and security for you, your business, and your clients?

My response to a discussion on Alignable: "For small business owners : I have noticed and experienced uptick in legal issues and cybersecurity concerns with some of my clients. What do you small biz owners have in place to help and protect you legally and what do you have in place to not only help to prevent an attack on your company /clients / employees /devices but also to restore the identities and stop the bleeding? Jitsi Architecture Variants

Jitsi Architecture Variants

Due to Jitsi’s modular, opensource, and highly configurable nature, there are many different architecture variations available when deploying a Jitsi ecosystem. This posting attempts to summarize, some more theoretical for the sake of discussion and analysis, a wide range of variants to consider for different implementations. Which Jitsi Architecture Variant to choose is based on each individual's specific scope and budget. Each successive variation tends to be more complicated than the prior variant. Note that these are NOT Jitsi official variations or terminology. These variation distinctions were created by Hawke Robinson as an attempt to bring some order to the many different potential approaches, and increase clarity when considering scalability, features, and budget constraints.

Critical Thinking About Microservices vs. Bandwagoneering - The Latest Buzzword Bingo: Microservices, Containerization, etc.

Every profession is rife with buzzwords, and tech is replete with them. The specific details change, though the basics remain the same, and often recycle old-as-new every 20 years or so. This posting discusses the current bandwagon buzzwords about old-is-new microservices and monoliths primarily, though with some ancillary mentions regarding containerization, and more on Jitsi.

Trying to run multiple selenium 3 chrome driver nodes per AWS spot instance: goal 5k users minimum

I am tasked with extensive load testing of Jitsi and related components. There have been a number of challenges just getting the tests to work on the scale needed (minimum 5k users, preferably 20k, but that can be extrapolated from the 5k). But just trying to get to 5k continues to be a challenge due being back in the 1970s and the popularity of "the cloud". I once again have to deal with the equivalent of the IBM engineers and begging for resource access to do my job... Anyway, here are updates on how it is going...

At 2,000 and climbing! [SOLVED] Standalone all-in-one Jitsi server max capacity 600 users, no matter how much hardware (at least in AWS)

I am working on a very extensive load-testing for capacity planning project analyzing Jitsi and various related components in educational and other settings, for my current employer. In the current load-testing I have hit a hard limit around 600-650 users for a default-install standalone all-in-one Jitsi server. This is not expected behavior. I am hoping the JItsi community can help determine if it is as simple as a configuration tweak, or if it is a more serious bug.

At 2,000 and climbing - Success Setting Up Environment for Load-testing AWS Jitsi 1000 Video Users - Onward to 5000+ - However Jitsi fails at 650 users standalone all-in-one

I am working on a longitudinal series of projects that heavily involve the use of Jitsi, especially in educational settings. This is for large scale environments that have highly demanding loads, and are intended as Zoom replacements in the USA and worldwide. This is just one of a number of components. Today was great to finally reach the 1,000 simulated video users load test basic baseline. Next goal is 5,000+, and then adding in additional features and still trying to keep it all working on this scale (recordings, transcriptions, closed captioning, intricate chat options, complex permissions managements, file management, and much more). Great things happening!

Someone please help. So close! Getting Discord User ID to populate Custom Gluu attribute discordUid during OAuth transaction

I have been hammering pro bono on a project for over a month now. With the help of two different teams from India (Jajati from Centroxy and Kalpesh from Xecurify), and various community support from the Gluu community (and unfortunately very little help or response from any of the Discord community so far), we finally were able to (yesterday) get basic authentication working between Gluu and Discord. Now just need this one last little step working to save this project today. If I can't figure it out, the ENTIRE PROJECT IS TOAST.

Uh Oh, Odoo Community Forum Not so Open?

Uh Oh, Odoo Community Forum Not so Open?

I recently posted an Odoo community forum question asking about any options exporting from a newer version (Odoo 13), backwards to an older edition (Odoo 12). They instead tagged it as "not a question" and now it doesn't appear to show up on the community site even when searching for it. This is very dishonest, not open, and worrisome that they have a policy of covering up such questions. That worries me...

Transitioning to Odoo 13

So, at long last I think we have found a complete replacement for Plone. It breaks my heart that the Plone developer community has fallen apart so badly, but it has been too many years of pain since the Plone 5.x approach has continued down a path that is too far off track from previous versions and typical open source. We are migrating to Odoo 13 Community Edition.
